Rules

By submitting an online registration form for the Cosplay Competition, you agree to and are bound by the rules below. Any concerns regarding any of the rules, please contact the Cosplay Coordinator before submitting your registration.

1. The cosplay competition is open to any competitor entering a costume that has been sourced from any MOVIE CHARACTERS. The 30 most impressive and flashy movie character will be selected.   If you complete the requirements below and get picked by the WCG Committee, you will get a confirmation e-mail stating clearly that you are 1 of the 30 finalists.

2. Overall grand prize will be awarded to one individual who is deemed to have the best overall costume (1 st, 2 nd 3 rd Place to be awarded on July 13, 2008, schedule to follow). For full list of prizes go to http://ph.worldcybergames.com

> The competitor must be available Saturday and Sunday of the competition to be eligible for the prize.

3. The competitors will do the following on stage; walk on in character, pose and have a brief interview. Judging will be based on the overall performance of the entrants. This includes accuracy of costume, ability to Role-play character in interview and posing as well as general attitude. Entrants will be required to answer questions from the Judges/MC regarding their costume. Sample questions may include "how long did it take you to make your costume" or "what is your favorite aspect of the costume?"

> Contestants should also note that they will be asked to pose for approximately 1 minute for photo opportunities.

4. You are required to provide a picture of the character/person you are cosplaying. This must be e-mailed to cosplay2008@esports.ph (file must be clear and no bigger than 1MB in size) along with your name registered at http://ph.worldcybergames.com

5. All entries must be received no later then 5pm, 20 th of June 2008. All images and registration must be complete or the entry will not be accepted. Finalist for the Contest on July 12, 2008, 6PM at SM Mall of Asia shall be posted on the first week of July.

6. Entrants must sign in on the day to confirm their attendance. Pre registered entrants must be signed in by 3:00 PM on the day of competition (July 12, 2008.)

7. We allow a wide variety of costumes however this is an all age’s event. Also, as the event has attracted many international media, we will need to take this into consideration. Please take note, if your costume is deemed too risqué, or inappropriate, then you will not be allowed to participate in the contest or you may also be asked to alter your costume or change clothes. If you are uncertain about your costume please email the cosplay coordinator to verify. If your costume is in anyway derogatory, sexual in nature or deemed inappropriate, you will be asked to alter your costume or change clothes. Sexual acts or any such attempted acts depicted by cosplayers will not be acceptable.

8. Safety first. No metal weapons of any kind will be permitted in or around the venue. Any weapons must be made of wood, plastic, foam or other like substances. All weapons are to be checked in at the security desk prior to entering the SM Mall of Asia Activity Area. Replica weapons including replica guns or swords must be made of plastic, foam or wood. No fire, flash powder, lasers, explosives, smoke, or open flame of any kind will be allowed.

9. No messy substances that might ruin the costume of another contestant will be allowed.
> If you are wearing body paint or make-up, please make sure it will not come off in casual contact with others. Do not leave anything on-stage that cannot be picked up by the stage crew within a few seconds.

10. Feel free to surprise the audience and judges, but not the cosplay coordinators. If you are planning something "different", please let us know in advance we will keep all ideas and costume plans strictly confidential

11. In the event of a dispute or the judges cannot come to a final decision, the cosplay coordinators and the Head of Competitions will have the deciding vote.

12. The coordinator’s decision is final. Once the Event is underway, the coordinator may need to make decisions that will ensure the cosplay competition runs smoothly. The coordinator has the right to refuse entry for any entrants to the cosplay competition. If you have any questions, please email.

13. The cosplay coordinators and judges are not eligible for entry into the cosplay competition.

14. THE COSPLAY COORDINATOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DISQUALIFY ENTRANTS WHO MISREPRESENT ANY ASPECTS OF THEIR ENTRY ON THEIR REGISTRATION FORM

15. Although there are prizes for this event, please remember that we are all here to have fun. Please enjoy yourselves and don't do things that may ruin other attendee's rights to have a good safe enjoyable time. Failure to do so may result in you being asked to leave the premises.

16. Any photos taken during the cosplay competition may be used for promotional purposes by WCG Philippines and Philippine E-Sports Entertainment Network, Inc.

17. Review the rules carefully. By entering, you agree to the rules for the WCG 2008 Special Event: WCG 2008 Cosplay Competition. The Cosplay Coordinators reserve the right to change these rules as they see fit. Please review these rules before the Event in case there is any last minute change. Ignorance of the rules is no basis for exemption of any rules.

18. WCG accepts no responsibilities for any injuries caused.
